|#109 MWAVC| - The Future of X
Another conversation I had yesterday with some brothers deep into the night really got me thinking. Honestly, if you’re not aware of how the world is changing and what the economic and political superpowers are doing to form the future, you’re behind…maybe just like Africa in the grand scheme of things. The rest of the world is accelerating so fast and we’re getting left in the dust.
Couple of things I learnt these past couple of days that I want to share:
The original framework for the EU was built off of what the African Union was supposed to be. —I tried to find a source online but couldn’t find anything. I heard this from a very very credible source who teaches African philosophical thought / Africa in International Affairs/ Social Theory / Communication and New Media. He knows what he’s talking about
If you don’t know about CRISPR, you’re behind. This is one of the most transformational things that will affect the human race. Think of gene editing to kill of mosquitoes, eliminate all kinds of diseases, design your baby like how we used to design shoes on Nike ID. AND edit your genes to turn you into a whole new person! The future is going to be kind of crazy. TBH CRISPR can be used to commit genocide very easily, if you think about it. Learn more here.
And maybe as or less important, deep fakes. This is very disturbing for me because I know people have the tendency to be very gullible. Not sure how exactly we’d control deep fakes, but here’s a video on it. Educate yourself please. I can just imagine what politicians will use this for during election time when they need to discredit the opposition. Fake news on steroids, and the technology is getting better every day. Learn more here.
Be more aware of what’s going on globally.
