As usual, I don’t remember where or when I wrote these down, but salient advice, nonetheless, for a…more fulfilling life? Let me know your thoughts.
Don't live above your means.
Invest in yourself. Read for self improvement.
Don't be content with what you already know. Be willing to try new things.
Time is money.
Think that you deserve to be rich. Anyone willing to make the right sacrifices.
Have expectations for yourself. Be strategic with the use of time.
Make do with what you have. Concentrate on what you have and make the most of it.
Don't hang out with the wrong people. You'll be affected by the people you hang around with. Be careful who you hang with .
Don't stay in a job you hate.
Most people never win because they are afraid of losing. Failure is part of success.
Be a non-conformist. Question the status quo.
Poverty is a condition of the mind. Fix your mindset.
Article List— What I’m reading (10 articles a day x 7 days x 4 weeks x 12 months = 3360 articles a year).
A Kenyan agritech startup is going pan-African with a $30 million round led by Goldman Sachs: Big up the Twiga team! And Goldman Sachs, I see you acquiring significant stakes in the next game changers. Strategic move for when the companies need to list on different stock exchanges. I don’t see JPM or MS doing this.
The Rich Man — Part 1: I screamed when I read a particular section of this article. It literally spoke to me. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. If you know, you know.
Saudi Aramco: The Company and the State: World’s highest valued company. Watch how it started and where MBS wants it to go.
Special Report: How a 29-year-old Ukrainian made a killing on Russian gas: Stuff happening in this world is crazy tbh. What’s going on here?
The AfCFTA is a giant step forward. But it remains just the start: Very giant step forward. Get familiar with what the continental free trade agreement is about.
Amazon Echo Buds review: These actually look quite dope. I bet the last longer than AirPods too.
Good Leaders are Great Storytellers — Our 6 Tips for Telling Stories That Resonate: What’s company-building but a series of stories?
Due Diligence: VC in Africa the opposite of Patagonia vests, Blue Bottle coffee and Burning Man: “People think VC in Africa is just like VC in Silicon Valley: you walk around with a Patagonia vest, in Allbirds shoes, wearing Warby Parker glasses, hitting Barry’s Bootcamp and Burning Man and then go drink coffee at Blue Bottle, before going on to a conference stage to speak about huge deals, huge rounds and huge valuations. Venture capital in Africa is precisely the opposite.”
Aramco’s I.P.O. Will Be Less Gigantic Than Promised: No more listing on the NYSE, now listing on the Tadawal market, and 2T is not going to happen.
Podcast— What I’m listening to (1 podcast episode a day x 7 days x 4 weeks x 12 months = 336 podcast episodes). Broadening my experiences through others’ stories.
Been backed up with work so I haven’t been listening to podcasts as much as I would like, but I found a new one I think would be pretty interesting called Tides of History, by Wondery. They put out the most elite podcast content. I love it.
Book— 1 Chapter a day x 7 days x 4 weeks x 12 months = 336 chapters. Most books have 10-12 chapters, so 1 year = 28 to 33 books. And my book list is nearing 1000 books. Send help 🌚
Will be done with Becoming today. Thoughts to follow soon. And I have the PDF for anyone who wants to read it.
📱📱Quote of the day
Shaq is rich; the white man that signs his check is wealthy. Here you go Shaq, go buy yourself a bouncing car. Bling-Bling . . . . I ain’t talking bout Oprah, I’m talking about Bill Gates. OK!. If Bill Gates woke up tomorrow with Oprah’s money, he would jump out a …window. I’m not talking about rich, I’m talking about wealthy—Chris Rock
