Big 5-0. I’ve literally sat behind my Macbook for 50 straight days and typed out something I wanted to share and thought could be useful to others? I hope I can keep up this consistency. Now, I get that a lot of you are here because you’re my friends so you’re doing this out of obligation, but I want to let you know that I appreciate you. 🙂
Anyway, back to today’s topic. It’s a very short post. If you have Netflix, search for the Explained show, and watch all of them, but in particular, watch the Billionaire episode. You’d learn a lot about how/ why it’s such a looooong shot to become one. So those of us who go out singing “I want to be a billionaire, so f***king bad”…yea, just know you’d be wanting for a long time. My standout quotes/ extracts from the episode plus one extra.
Oh, and thank you Dani for the recommendation! Shoutout to you.
“People who know how much they’re worth generally aren’t worth too much.”- Nelson Bunker Hunt
“Money makes money. It’s like you put money in a room, lock the door and it has sex and more money babies grow.” - Abigail Disney
“To turn $100 into $110 is a lot of work. To turn $100m into $110m is inevitable. If you have $100 in savings, it’s hard not to spend that and invest it instead. But if you have $100m and you let it sit on indexes or in treasury bills, or even the stock market, it’s definitely going to grow.” - Edgar Bronson Snr.
“There are over 100 billionaires in Chinese parliament.” - narrator of Explained. (This one blew mines! Can anyone spell corruption?)
Extra credit: One of my boy’s favorite quotes. He literally says this every time we meet😂
“…And I was just like, first of all, let’s get this schmoney.”
