*Finally a short post* Thanks to everyone who reached out about yesterday’s Podcast Friday post. It looks like it’s about to be a thing. So be on the look out for my long-winded notes about some podcast episode for next week Friday. Cheers to the weekend🥂🥂.
Today we’re just looking at some of the sensible tweets/quotes/things I’ve seen throughout the week. Read and reflect.
I’ve had clarity about my purpose for a while, so I’m comfortable with the fact that delay isn’t denial. What is for you will be for you. - @burnaboy
When I was a bachelor, I almost always won the heart of anyone I set my heart on for a simple reason- nobody else existed but that person. Focus is what causes improvement and success. Competition is a distraction. The root of all inferiority complex as a bachelor is competing. - @asemota
Sometimes you’ve got to hold the L, own the L, fix the L, and then keep it moving. Accountability is everything. - @mercedesfbenson
Competition is for those with less confidence and lower self esteem. Differentiation and uniqueness is the hallmark of creativity and intelligence. - @asemota.
(Someone countered with examples of Ronaldo and Serena being competitive. Big chief countered that states Serena and Ronaldo are athletes and competition is their work. But at the same time, they excel and are driven because they don’t compare themselves with others.)
To be prepared against surprise is to be trained. To be prepared for surprise is to be educated.- James Carse
Your network isn’t the people you know. It’s the people who the people you know, know. - @atokwaminab

Kenyan government shuts down bus services that threaten matatu networks: Governments, why don’t you just go ahead and stifle more innovation? There’s a matatu cartel behind this, I’m sure.
Sam Altman says OpenAI still focuses on social good, despite abandoning nonprofit status: They better still be focused on social good. The way things are going, we definitely need some ethical AI doing its job.
MDMA 💊: Another funny af post from Scott Galloway. This is the kind of tone I’d like this newsletter to have over time. Hopefully getting there soon.
Feeding the largest cruise ships in the world: I’m wondering how long it’ll take for me to get bored. Looks kinda dope still. Might try.
🎧🎧Podcast— What I’m listening to (1 podcast episode a day x 7 days x 4 weeks x 12 months = 336 podcast episodes). Broadening my experiences through others’ stories.
The Mysterious Mr. Epstein: Just started listening to this 6 part series on Jeffrey Epstein. I know someone had him killed definitely. There’s only two episodes out but i’m fairly confident he had a lot of dirt on a lot of influential people. If this man started talking, all hell would’ve broken loose. Insightful, nonetheless.
📚📚Book— 1 Chapter a day x 7 days x 4 weeks x 12 months = 336 chapters. Most books have 10-12 chapters, so 1 year = 28 to 33 books. And my book list is nearing 1000 books. Send help 🌚
Aluta: Want to know more about Ghana’s history (circa 1980s) in a fun and short read? This book is yours. Recommended by Yaa. S/o to her. I finished it in a couple of hours. Very easy read + you wouldn’t want to put it down.
